Asst. Prof. Aksoy-Sheridan Presents Research at the University of Vienna During Sabbatical

Asst. Prof. Rukiye Aslıhan Aksoy-Sheridan of the Basic Sciences Unit, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, TED University, is on sabbatical research leave from February to September 2026. During this period, she is a visiting researcher at the Department of Near Eastern Studies (Institut für Orientalistik) of the University of Vienna (Universität Wien).
As part of her research stay, she presented her research paper entitled “Mecmuas as Sites of Proliferation of Texts and Genres in the Long 17th Century” at the 5th Colloquium on Ottoman Literature (COL), held on 18 June 2026 at the University of Vienna. Organized under the theme “Ottoman Literature Through the Centuries,” the colloquium brought together scholars from institutions across Europe, including Central European University, the University of Münster, and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Asst. Prof. Aksoy-Sheridan, who also served as the course coordinator for the humanities (LIBE 110) and literature (LIBE150) courses in TED University’s Common Core Programme, will resume her regular teaching and other academic duties upon her return.
